Numerous events are held throughout the year at Carbondale FCC that are fun for everyone. For a full schedule of upcoming events, see the Upcoming Events on the Home page.
Some of the most popular events throughout the year are:
Donut Day – usually held on a Saturday morning in February. Several kinds of homemade donuts are enjoyed with a cup of coffee or purchased by the dozen to take home.
Greek Dinner – a vast array of at least 25 dishes of authentic Greek food is served buffet style in the Friendship Hall that has been transformed into a Greek Taverna. This is an event enjoyed by not only church members but also many community members each spring.
Fall Fest — held each October with a craft and plant sale, live music, and an old-fashioned chicken and dumpling dinner. This event is also a church and community favorite.
Cookie Walk – church members make dozens of Christmas cookies and candies that are offered for sale each December. Shoppers fill their containers with these homemade treats and pay for them by the pound.
At Carbondale FCC, we like to eat and are blessed to have the culinary talents of our own Martha Beck. Other events include a 1st Century Ash Wednesday meal, a Thanksgiving Potluck, and Advent Dinner.
Money raised through some of these events goes to the church budget, pays student musicians who augment our choir, and pays for upgrades on kitchen appliances when needed.
